About Peter Alexander

PA Motorsport Team owner, Peter Alexander started competing at the age of 12 in karts. Racing initially in 100cc Junior Britain, Alexander progressed to Senior Britain and 100 National achieving many race wins along the way.

As soon as Alexander turned 17 he competed in Rallycross at his local Lydden circuit, he soon switched to single seaters racing in Formula Ford 1600 initially in a self prepared Royale RP29. The acquisition of a newer Swift FB91 immediately bought results and race wins and a further upgrade to a newer Swift SC93F led to him battling for the Championship in 1996 and 1997. Alexander was also asked to compete in Formula 2000 in 1996 and finished on the podium at the first attempt. A Van Diemen RF97 gave him a Championship win in 1998 when he won 12 out of 16 races to take both the BRSCC Zetec Championship and overall Kent County Formula Ford Championship beating works Teams along the way. Alexander’s Formula Ford lap record at Croix-en-Ternois still stands.

Due to Alexander’s single seater Championship successes in his self prepared and run cars he was soon asked to prepare and run cars for others and the PA Motorsport Team was soon running several more cars. Peter was ideally placed to test customers’ cars and pinpoint problems as well as providing chassis set-up advice.

In 2007 he was asked to test a Simtek S951 F1 car and with the test going well this in turn led to a race deal. A podium in his very first F1 race at Hockenheim soon followed.

Further drives have followed with owners asking Alexander to test their Historic race cars. Initially, Peter was a ‘dyed-in-the-wool single seater driver, he has now won in Historic sports cars and saloons (His reasoning is it was good enough for Jim Clark!). Highlights have included racing at the Goodwood Revival meeting in both sports cars and saloons.

Peter Alexander is a ‘Super’ grade ARDS licenced instructor and a director of ARDS (Association of Racing Drivers Schools), he is also Chief Instructor for Motorsport Vision as well as running PA Motorsport.
